Common questions
Is a fit-out permit suitable for structural changes?
DDA’s Fit-Out Permit service directs structural additions, changes of use and additional gross floor area to the Building Modification route. Confirm the category before paying for an application.
Who applies for the permit?
DDA names the contractor as requester for both the Fit-Out Permit and Building Modification Permit. The latter lists an appointment letter signed by the owner, consultant and contractor.
Do I need the building owner’s NOC for a fit-out?
The fit-out service lists the building owner’s NOC, along with relevant authority NOCs. If the building has no completion certificate yet, additional NOCs from the main contractor, main consultant and plot owner are listed.
Can I choose the authority from the neighbourhood alone?
Confirm the actual plot and its existing approval records. Use DDA’s official planning services to clarify applicability before choosing a permit route.
